Founded in the Dominican tradition,
Saint Cecilia Cathedral School educates
a diverse population of children in
PreKindergarten - 8th Grade. Our school is committed to fostering a
Christian learning environment and
proclaiming and modeling faith, worship,
service and prayer.

Child Care Center
At Saint Cecilia Child Care Center,
we offer activities for your child's
social and cognitive development
throughout our curriculum.
Language, math, creative art, dramatic
play, singing, pre-writing and other
“learning through play” activities are
taught by our qualified staff in a warm,
safe, loving, child-friendly environment.

We are here to help make your Cathedral experience enjoyable and informational. All visitors to the campus are special to us. Please let us know how we can serve you.
Our parish is the home, the heart and the foundation of the Omaha Archdiocese. We minister to people within and outside our parish boundaries. As a Roman Catholic parish we welcome people of diverse backgrounds into a worshiping, ministering community and graciously accept our leadership role in the Archdiocese and in the community. Today, the Cathedral parish consists of over 850 households. The heart of Saint Cecilia Cathedral is the people. Every person in this diverse and interesting parish is invited to become a part of the life of our parish through ministries activities, and committees. We equip disciples!
God is always present and active in our lives, of course, but there are specific times in our lives, such as at our birth, or when we are in need of spiritual or physical healing, or when we take a spouse, when we have His promise that He will be present and active in a particular way. At those times, we cannot see God acting.
God is Spirit, and He acts invisibly. Yet, He wants to communicate to us what He is doing. He want to make His actions visible. This He does by speaking the language of Sacraments.
At the most basic level, this is what a Sacrament is: something chosen by God to make His invisible actions (grace) visible to us -- a means by which we can get a peek into Heaven. Sacraments are the way by which Heaven speaks to earth. Through them, we are told what our God is doing in our lives.
All alumni of Cathedral High School and Saint Cecilia Cathedral Grade School are encouraged and welcomed back to the campus, as you are forever "Cathedral Cardinals."
The True Voice on May 12, 1905, recorded the ground breaking for Saint Cecilia's Cathedral thus -- "The work of excavating for the new cathedral at Fortieth and Burt streets began this week.
A large force of men are employed on the work which will require some time yet." Little did anyone dream in 1905 that "the work which will require some time yet" would actually take over fifty years. Little did anyone dream in 1905 that
seventy-five years later, Saint Cecilia's Cathedral would become a national landmark and become one of the most outstanding cathedrals in the United States.
We, who enjoy the beauty, the grandeur, and religious experiences in the cathedral today, can only stand in silent tribute to those who struggled for its completion. Saint Cecilia's Cathedral stands as a mighty symbol of the living faith of all people of the midwest. Its towers stretch high to the heavens in praise of God.
